BY CAR
From Tunstall:
Follow the A50 northbound (signposted Warrington) through Kidsgrove. Go under the railway bridge by Tesco, and turn left at the traffic lights into Hardingswood Road. Just after the Canal Tavern, cross over the canal then take the first turning on the left into Hardingswood. The pub is on the right and the car park is situated at the rear.
From Alsager:
Follow the A50 southbound through Red Bull lights and under the aqueduct. At the traffic lights before the railway bridge turn right into Hardingswood road then as above.
From Newcastle:
Take the A34 to Talke crossroads, turn right and continue through Butt Lane. At the traffic lights turn right into Cedar Avenue, then where the road widens turn left into Second Avenue. At the end of Second Ave the road becomes narrow and crosses over the railway and then the canal. Just after the large house next to Kidsgrove Tropicals, turn right into Hardingswood.
BY BUS
The 20 (Hanley-Crewe), 20A (Hanley-Talke Pits), 34A (Kidsgrove-Newcastle) and 6 (Kidsgrove-Meir) buses all run fairly frequently, with a last bus usually after 11.00 p.m.
(N.B. We generally have up-to-date copies of the relevant timetables for you to check if you’ve got time for one last half before your last bus leaves!)
BY RAIL
On leaving Kidsgrove station, cross the car park and go down the steps leading to the canal towpath. Turn left and follow the towpath under two bridges, then over the junction with the Macclesfield Canal. Just before the double locks, leave the towpath & the pub is in front of you.
